(WTHR) — For the second time in less than a week, there’s another recall on Losartan potassium tablets. Losartan is a medication used to treat high blood pressure and some type 2 diabetes symptoms.
This time, the recall comes from Torrent Pharmaceuticals, an India-based company that distributes medication nationwide in the United States.
Torrent Pharmaceuticals has not received any complaints of “adverse events” due to the medication, but it voluntarily recalling 10 lots of pills that contain a chemical called N-nitrosodiethylamine (NDEA) that is capable of causing cancer.
The affected products come in various dosages and quantities, with expiration dates from April 2019 to May 2021. Click here to see all the products included in the recall.
Patients taking these tablets should continue to take them before consulting a physician or pharmacist about alternative options.
