Food choices have a big impact on your health and how you feel. Join University of Illinois Extension at one of three local programs to explore simple ways to improve your nutrition and energy based on your meal and snack selections.
“The Mediterranean Diet is an evidence-based dietary pattern focused on the food of Spain, Greece and Southern Italy, where chronic disease incidence is low,” said Laura Barr, nutrition and wellness educator. “In addition to providing proper nutrition, this diet may improve lipid panels and blood pressure for a healthier heart.”
Learn more about this simple way of eating at one of three upcoming educational sessions in DuPage, Kane and Kendall Counties. Participants will learn about basics of the Mediterranean Diet; better understand food choices, nutrition and benefits; as well as get recipe ideas and taste test.
It will be hosted by University of Illinois Extension in:
• Kendall County, 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, at 7775B Route 47, Yorkville.
• DuPage County, 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at 1100 E. Warrenville Road, Naperville.
• Kane County, 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 23 at 535 S. Randall Road, St. Charles.
Registration is required at go.illinois.edu/extensiondkk. Cost is $10 per person. Space may be limited. Registration closes one week prior to each class.
